I like to be honest about what I don't like, but I really think most people would enjoy the lifestyle it allows.Houston Highlight A City of Diversity, Exploration, and Family I realize this is inevitable if we want to solve the aforementioned issue of empty lots, but at least set up protective sidewalk shelters rather than block the entire sidewalk! Why the city allows them to do this is beyond me.ДЄs I mentioned, the pro's still far outweigh the con's for me, and I would strongly dislike having to drive to get to work again. (I know, I know, I'm a typical yuppie - at least I own up to it) -The wide patches of empty parking lot (it's getting better with new developments, but still a long way from filling up) -The endless construction developments that interfere with your walk to work, etc. I don't know what the solution is, but I hope new residential helps in some way. I hate to be callous, but this is my biggest issue with downtown. While better than it used to be, I can hardly walk out my door without running into someone who is asking for money, sleeping on the sidewalk, or wandering aimlessly.

Likes: -Walking to work is faster than driving for me -My default lifestyle is more active due to walking to work/food/drinks/events etc -B-cycle is a super cheap and effective way to get around very quickly -The metro rail is suddenly phenomenal for getting around (museums, midtown, historic downtown, etc) -The views from apartments downtown are better than almost any other apartment in Houston with the skyline as a backdrop -The food and beverage scene downtown is at an all-time high IMO, and keeps getting better -New residential developments downtown mean more people out and about in the evenings -Feels like I live in an actual city coming from my time on Washington and in the Heights -Phoenicia and Randall's are sufficient for my grocery needs and are very close (I eat out more being so close to everything) -Super close to Buffalo Bayou, the gem of all Houston parks -I've never felt threatened or unsafe (I'm a guy, so YMMV)Дislikes: -The homeless situation. From Business: Dayclub and swimming pool in Las Vegas offering VIP cabanas, full bar, bachelor party and bachelorette party packages, pool party events and a be the DJ. I love it and hate it at the same time, but the pro's outweigh the con's in my book.
